The November Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary, with Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama serving as chief officiant on behalf of the Shinbashira.
In the Service prayer, Rev. Nakayama first expressed gratitude to God the Parent for guiding us toward a world filled with joy. Continuing, he said: “In the world, there are people who are suffering from illness or other problems as they wander about on the mind’s dark paths by relying on self-centered human thoughts. All of us followers will strive to spread the fragrance of the teachings and engage in salvation work so as to convey the intention of the Parent of Origin to these people and thereby guide them to the path leading to true salvation. We are determined to take firm steps forward as we embark on activities for the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements. After the Service performance, Honbu-in Masatoshi Masuno took the podium to deliver the sermon. He noted how implementing single-hearted salvation is the way that leads to the Joyous Life, which is the goal we are aiming to achieve. He then called on the listeners to deeply ponder over what kind of salvation work they can do to that end and move forward on the path with firm resolve.
