On September 27, the Autumn Memorial Service was conducted under a brisk autumn sky with the Shinbashira presiding.
The Memorial Service began in the Main Sanctuary with the reading of the prayer, which was followed by a performance of the Eight Verses of the Yorozuyo and the Twelve Songs.
The Shinbashira then proceeded to the Memorial Hall and read a prayer honoring predecessors’ virtues as well as their selfless and single-hearted dedication to God and to the teachings. In closing, he said, “May the examples you left for us guide us smoothly toward spiritual maturity in our spirited efforts to reconstruct the world.”
