- 月日親神は、この混沌たる様を味気なく思召し、人間を造り、その陽気ぐらしをするのを見て、ともに楽しもうと思いつかれた。Tsukihi, God the Parent, finding this chaos unbearably tasteless, thought of creating human beings in order to see the Joyous Life and thus share in that joy (The Doctrine of Tenrikyo, p. 20).
- さて、親神が思うには、このような泥海の中に親神が居るだけでは、まことに味氣ない。そこで、人間というものを拵えて、その陽氣ぐらしをするのを見て親神も共に楽しもう、と思い立った。Now God the Parent thought that living alone in such a muddy ocean was indeed tasteless. There, the thought arose: to make creatures called human beings, and by seeing their Joyous Life, God the Parent, also, would rejoice (The Life of Oyasama, pp. 159–160).
- 親神はみずから自足するものであり、みずからがあるためには、みずから以外のいかなるものも必要としない。しかし、親神はみずからがみずからだけであることを味けないものと思い、人間と世界を創出し共に楽しみたいと思いつかれた。God is self-sufficient and does not depend on anything else in order to exist. Nevertheless, finding the original condition—in which there was nothing but God—to be ‘tasteless’ or uninteresting, God thought of creating humankind and the world to see the Joyous Life and share in that joy (A Glossary of Tenrikyo Terms, p. 59).
