The February Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary, with Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama serving as chief officiant on behalf of the Shinbashira.
In the Service prayer, Rev. Nakayama first expressed gratitude to God the Parent for providing us with unchanging providence day and night and thereby guiding us toward the Joyous Life World. Continuing, he said: “All of us Service performers as well as church head ministers and other Yoboku will pay close attention to the source of uncertainties and sufferings that are shown in today’s society and ponder over the intention of our Parent, who desires to hasten our salvation. We are determined to exert ever greater sincerity in spreading the fragrance of the ultimate teaching and praying for blessings in our salvation work so as to make progress in working toward world salvation in a manner befitting this season.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements. After the Service performance, Honbu-in Michikazu Takahashi took the podium to deliver the sermon. After noting the importance of following Oyasama’s Divine Model, Rev. Takahashi expressed his hope that followers of the path would deeply ponder over Oyasama’s parental love contained in the Divine Model and thereby engage in the work of the path by encouraging one another to respond to Her parental heart in unity of mind.
