Tenrikyo Women’s Association held a seminar for the chairwomen of directly supervised chapters and diocese chapters at the East Lecture Hall on January 27, 2022. It was announced that the association would continue to promote the same slogan for spiritual maturity as in previous years—“Let’s follow the Divine Model and become the foundation for the Joyous Life”—as well as its activity guideline, which is “Let’s inquire into the origin and make daily repayment for the blessings we receive.”
In her address delivered at the seminar, Association President Harue Nakayama referred to the phrase “inquire into the origin” in the activity guideline in relation to the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama, which would be observed in four years’ time. After touching upon God the Parent’s intention relating to the origin, she stressed that the faith in the path cannot remain limited to ourselves or those who are already connected with the path but must be passed on to the children and grandchildren, if God the Parent’s intention to realize the Joyous Life World is to be accomplished. We must convey the teachings to them and guide them along the path with a firm conviction of faith, she said.
In speaking about how we should follow the path with such a conviction, President Nakayama said that it is essential to make efforts to learn about the parental heart of God the Parent and Oyasama as well as the challenges that our predecessors including the first-generation followers in our families went through. It is important to inquire into the origin as we ponder over how we are going to walk on the path, she said.
She moved on to speak about how our predecessors followed the path with a firm resolution even in challenging situations. Noting how taking action with a firm resolution is also fundamental as we go through the current COVID-19 pandemic, she said, “We should exert our utmost in finding the best way to move forward in the current situation and thereby take action as we seek to align ourselves with God the Parent’s intention.” Toward the end of her address, President Nakayama said, “Let us follow the path of making repayment for God’s blessings together in high spirits this year in a way that will prepare us for the ‘three years, one thousand days’ season.”
It was announced that the 104th Women’s Association Convention will be held on April 19 in the Inner Courtyard of Church Headquarters, with no special events to be held after the convention. Also, the Young Women’s Convention will be held on November 27 in the Inner Courtyard. The Lecture for Mothers and other seminars are also planned to be held this year, subject to the circumstances relating to COVID-19.
