A professional opera singer, Masako Konishi, visited Yokufu-en, a senior citizens home in Suginami Ward, Tokyo. Ms. Konishi, who is a Yoboku belonging to Fukuma Branch Church and living in Tokyo, performed at the senior citizens home at the request of Yoichi Sakaguchi, head of Suginami District of Tokyo Diocese.
On December 6, Yokufu-en’s auditorium turned into a concert hall, where 170 senior citizens and staff gathered to hear Ms. Konishi’s beautiful voice. Ms. Konishi not only sang, but came down from the stage during the show to shake each person’s hand in the audience.
