The November Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary.
Serving as chief officiant on behalf of the Shinbashira, who is recuperating, Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama said in the Service prayer, “All of us Yoboku, including the church head ministers, will do whatever we can for salvation work in our respective capacities by always keeping sight of the Divine Model as we pray for and strive toward the realization of the Joyous Life World.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements. After the Service performance, Honbu-in Zensuke Nakata took the podium to deliver the sermon.
Rev. Nakata began by sharing his reflections on what frame of mind we followers of the path may need to have as we follow the Divine Model of Oyasama. He then spent some time sharing his thoughts on the teaching of a thing lent, a thing borrowed. Rev. Nakata then went on to express his hope that each one of us will conduct salvation work in the course of our everyday life—starting with whatever we can do and devoting our sincerity to helping people around us who may be in need of salvation work—as a way to make repayment for the blessings we receive each day.
