The June Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary, with Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama serving as chief officiant on behalf of the Shinbashira.
In the Service prayer, Rev. Nakayama first expressed gratitude to God the Parent for opening the true path that settles the world and for guiding us toward the Joyous Life with boundless parental love. Continuing, he said: “All of us Service performers as well as church head ministers and other Yoboku will unite our minds as we seek to devote our utmost sincerity to spreading the fragrance of the teachings and helping save others. We are determined to make further progress in spiritual growth by working earnestly during the remaining months of the pre-anniversary period in the hope that we will be shown the blessing of Jiba being filled with joy and enthusiasm as befits the current season.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements. After the Service performance, Honbu-in Eiichi Imamura took the podium to deliver the sermon, which focused on the importance of communicating with others.
In his sermon, Rev. Imamura noted that the best way to make repayment for God the Parent’s profound blessings is to spread the fragrance of the teachings and help save others. Living a life based on the teachings and proactively conveying the joy of the faith to others is a key, he said. He called on the listeners to develop an awareness of being the instruments of Oyasama, cultivate the mind of making repayment for divine blessings, and thereby follow the path cheerfully and in high spirits during the remaining seven months leading up to the upcoming anniversary.
