Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all Tenrikyo schools in the Home of the Parent had been forced to suspend their daily morning service at Church Headquarters since April last year—the service that serves as part of their religious education based on the teachings.
With the number of new cases nationwide on a downward trend, however, their school worship was recently resumed in a COVID-secure way for the first time in about a year and a half.
The Tenrikyo schools have been taking all possible measures to prevent infections, with different schools and grades attending on staggered days and each tatami mat seating no more than one student to ensure social distancing.
