Women’s Association Activity Guidelines 2024

Tenrikyo Women’s Association held a seminar for the chairwomen of directly supervised chapters and diocese chapters at Moya 38 on January 27 and 28, 2024.

The association announced its decision to continue promoting the same slogan for spiritual maturity as in previous years: “Let’s follow the Divine Model and become the foundation for the Joyous Life.” The association also continues to uphold the same activity guidelines, which are: “As we move toward the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama, let’s be thorough in ensuring that we nurture ourselves and others sincerely,” “Let’s convey and spread the original intention of God the Parent,” and “Let all of us—young and old alike—savor the joy of salvation work.”

In her address delivered at the seminar, Association President Harue Nakayama referred to the major earthquake that struck on New Year’s Day and emphasized the need for us to take it seriously and personally, carefully reflect on ourselves, and correct what should be corrected about our own spiritual growth efforts so that we may follow the path in a way that will allow the blessings of the earliest possible recovery to be received.

She proceeded to discuss the fifty years of Oyasama’s Divine Model, which should serve as the guide for members’ journey to spiritual growth during the pre-anniversary period.

Highlighting how Oyasama remained cheerful and joyous regardless of the severity of the situation She was in, President Nakayama emphasized that God’s parental love is manifested in all events that happen to us. She continued, stating that even if we face challenging circumstances, God the Parent consistently guides us toward true salvation and profound joy. She stressed the importance of striving to ensure that buds sprout from a knot, describing it as a crucial aspect of emulating the Divine Model.

Next, she elaborated on the responsibilities entrusted to association members, whose mission as the foundation of the path is to raise and nurture their children, as well as the people around them, helping them grow into the instruments of Oyasama. In conclusion, she asked the listeners to continue their efforts to guide and nurture people who have come to the teachings to a level where they take the initiative both to pursue the path of single-hearted salvation and to pass down their faith to subsequent generations.

An announcement was made that the 106th Women’s Association Convention is set to take place on April 19 in the Inner Courtyard of Church Headquarters. Following the convention, each directly supervised chapter will organize its own gathering for its members to commemorate the event. Furthermore, the period from April 1 to 30 will be designated as “Besseki Month.”

Additionally, the association declared that the 31st Young Women’s Convention will take place in Jiba on November 1, 2026—the year of the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama.
