On January 27 and 28, Tenrikyo Women’s Association held a seminar for the chairwomen of directly supervised chapters and diocese chapters at Moya 38 with an attendance of 255 people.
It was announced that the association, which will commemorate its 110th anniversary in April this year, will continue to promote its slogan for spiritual maturity:
Let’s follow the Divine Model and become the foundation for the Joyous Life.
Also announced were new activity guidelines:
Let’s inquire into the origin and make daily repayment for the blessings we receive.
(1) Let’s study the Scriptures and The Life of Oyasama to learn about the heart of the Parent.
(2) Let’s nurture ourselves and others into true Yoboku.
Aiming for a million members, let’s work together to ensure that each member can be blessed with two new members.
In the seminar, Association President Harue Nakayama addressed the participants. After referring to a passage from the Shinbashira’s New Year’s address, she spoke about the importance of settling the Truth of Origin in our heart. She stressed that it is crucial to convey the origin to the younger generation if we are to ensure that they inherit the faith that began with early followers who were directly taught by Oyasama. She then emphasized the importance of parents conveying the original intention of God the Parent to their children through their words and actions while maintaining a sense of mission as Yoboku.
In referring to the new activity guidelines, President Nakayama said, “My hope is that we will familiarize ourselves with the Scriptures, take to heart the Parent’s intention, and firmly settle it in our heart as our conviction of faith while endeavoring to share the Truth of Origin with the younger generation.”
Toward the end of her address, President Nakayama expressed her hope in anticipation of this year’s convention: “I would like each and every one of us members to have a strong sense of mission to share the teachings of God the Parent with as many people as possible. I would like us to make constant and steady efforts to that end while always maintaining a proactive attitude to share the teachings with other people.”
The association is scheduled to hold the 102nd Women’s Association Convention commemorating its 110th anniversary in the Inner Courtyard of Church Headquarters on the morning of April 19. On the afternoon of that day, lectures will be held as a commemorative event at seven locations in the Home of the Parent. On April 18, the association will hold a parade after Church Headquarters’ evening service under the title “Unite Our Power of Joy—The Joyous Parade.” In November, the association will start conducting the Seminar for Branch Chapter Chairwomen in the Home of the Parent, which is intended for all branch chapter chairwomen. The association will also hold other regular events such as the Lecture for Mothers and various seminars.
