Rev. Naotaro Shimizu, head of the Mission Center in Colombia, attended an interreligious meeting held in Bogota, Colombia, on September 4. The meeting drew leaders from about 30 religious organizations and indigenous ethnic groups. Prior to the meeting, a ceremony to establish the Colombian Assembly of Religions and Spiritual Traditions took place. The leaders discussed topics such as human rights.
Rev. Shimizu explained the teaching that “Through saving others, you will be saved” and the meaning of “Gratitude, Moderation, Mutual Help—keys to the Joyous Life” while quoting from the Ofudesaki. Rev. Shimizu was presented with a letter of appreciation for his efforts and contributions for the meeting.
