The June Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary.
On behalf of the Shinbashira, who is receiving medical treatment, Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama served as chief officiant. In the Service prayer, he said, “We Service performers as well as church head ministers and Yoboku intend to sweep away our dust of the mind, make constant efforts to keep our mind joyous and spirited regardless of what we see and hear, and reflect the delight of the Joyous Life to people around the world.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements.
After the Service performance, Honbu-in Michiro Yamamoto took the podium to deliver the sermon.
Rev. Yamamoto spoke at some length about the theme of joining and connecting, which is one of the most important aspects in nurturing human resources who will carry the future of the path. He shared his thoughts on keeping our minds connected to Jiba and the path, connecting within our families and in relationships, and staying connected to churches.
Touching upon the upcoming events such as the Children’s Pilgrimage to Jiba and the High School Division of the Students Training Course, Rev. Yamamoto concluded his sermon by calling for increased efforts to invite and bring as many people as possible to participate in these summer events, which he said are ideal for nurturing children and students.
