The December Monthly Service of Tenrikyo Church Headquarters was performed on the 26th in the Main Sanctuary, with Successor-Designate Daisuke Nakayama serving as chief officiant on behalf of the Shinbashira.
In the Service prayer, Rev. Nakayama first looked back on how the intention to observe the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama was stated at the beginning of the year followed by the announcement of Instruction Four on the occasion of the Autumn Grand Service. Continuing, he said, “All of us followers will continue to devote our utmost sincerity to the cause of saving others with our sights set on Oyasama’s Divine Model as we embark on the first year of the ‘three years, one thousand days’ activity period leading up to the 140th Anniversary of Oyasama in the coming year.”
The prayer was followed by the joyous performance of the Kagura Service and the Dance with Hand Movements. After the Service performance, Honbu-in Seitaro Yamada took the podium to deliver the sermon. Rev. Yamada spoke about Yoboku’s duties and the appropriate frame of mind for conducting salvation work, among other things, by referring to Instruction Four.
