Completion of South Right Wing 1 of the Oyasato-yakata

Construction work on South Right Wing 1 of the Oyasato-yakata building-complex was completed on November 30. On that day, a thanksgiving service was performed in the Main Sanctuary of Church Headquarters in order to offer thanks to God the Parent for the successful completion of the construction work. The service, led by Oyasato Committee Chairman Yoshikazu Yamamoto, was attended by about 250 people including staff members of the Construction and Maintenance Department.

Following the service performance, the Shinbashira proceeded to the newly completed South Right Wing I and inspected the interior together with the former Shinbashira. During the construction, which took over three years and seven months to complete, a total of 23,000 people including Young Men’s Association Hinokishin Corps members dedicated themselves to hinokishin related to the construction.

Since this wing will be used as Tenri University Sankokan Museum, the next four months will be spent on making the interior suitable for the displays and moving the exhibits from the old building. The museum is scheduled to begin setting up its new displays in May. The formal completion ceremony for South Right Wing 1 is expected to be conducted when the museum reopens next fall.
