A new hand-washing facility, whose construction began on September 8 last year, was recently completed in the east Sanctuary precincts.
On June 23, this facility was formally opened by the Shinbashira as well as the former Shinbashira. Scooping water with a dipper, the Shinbashira washed his hands before being guided around the facility by Architects and Civil Engineers Section Chief Yoshio Okumura.
